ABOUT

The natural world is my guide and inspiration.

My vision is influenced by techniques and processes that mimic nature's fluidity and spontaneity. I'm especially interested in the complex and often fragile interactions of materials that evolve and react naturally to specific conditions. Allowing nature to direct my creative journey through elements like temperature, light, time and gravity. This deepens my relationship with nature through organic processes that are immersive and promote a sense of connection for me.

Inner landscapes are developed through weathered surfaces with organic shapes and forms revealed through layered media. I'm intrigued by the idea that layers found in shadows, water or reflections can be translated physically or metaphorically. Allowing me to interpret ideas using nature as a metaphor for the human experience.

Since completing a BA(Hons) 1st Class Degree in Design at Wrexham University of Wales in 2001 I have worked on various creative projects. Recently finding the opportunity to develop work from my home in North Wales, which is where I find most of my inspiration. Along the beautiful hiking trails of the mountains, woods and coastal paths.
